Dorothy's Dictionary has been selected to be part of Palm Beach Dramaworks New Year/New Plays Festival!

Matt Stabile is directing!  Our cast features Karen Stephens and Eli Mosely.  Elizabeth Dimon is reading stage directions.

We've had a wonderful week of work together, and I've had the chance to do a few more adjustments to the script.  I'm quite fond of this little two-hander, about an unexpected friendship that blossoms between an angry teenager and an ailing librarian.  I hope you'll tune in!

James Baldwin talks about writing...

I remember seeing this clip years ago.  It was in a documentary film about Baldwin that I checked out of the Salem Public Library, soon after discovering Baldwin's wonderful, complicated novels.  I loved his read-out-loud beautiful prose and difficult characters.  And after watching the documentary, I loved him, too.  Through my most difficult times, it was nice to think of someone whose difficult times made mine pale in comparison, and who replied to them with such strength, humor and spirit.
